In form and function, this multi-acre property on the San Francisco Peninsula was designed to match the residence’s simplified vision of a modern rural estate free of frilly or ostentatious ornamentation.

A gated drive gracefully climbed the hill through an existing orchard of old olive trees to a cobbled formal auto court. A rear formal terrace was a stage for a playful use of over scaled containers. It is set above an expansive lawn bordered by flowering shrubs, framing a vista of distant oaks.
