| Studio Green and The Friends of Franklin Square collaborated to revitalize the Franklin Square Park in San Francisco’s Mission District. This underused park needed a significant amount of attention to alter the existing small and unsafe playground. The outcome expanded the playground with tiered play areas conforming to the gentle landscape slopes. The separation of older and younger play areas for all the children while providing adequate seating make this playground an vital gathering space for the community. |
Location: San Francisco, CA Architect: Friends of Franklin Square Park “ONE THE COOLEST PLAYGROUND I'VE SEEN/PLAYED ON!!! I wish I had one in my 'hood. Looks so new. They also have a cool obstacle course, a train, see-saw for 3 ...a cool slide that took a few seconds to figure out. MANNN I need to advocate for a park like this in my neighborhood.” This is a quote from Yelp web site by Kylie L. 10/10/09 |
